Microneedling and PRP injections

What Is Microneedling?

MOD Dermatology is proud to offer microneedling to our Omaha patients. Microneedling is among the newer trends in anti-aging and facial rejuvenation. The procedure works by creating microtraumas in the skin with a collection of very tiny needles on a motorized instrument controlled by Dr. Ortleb. Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy because the microtrauma created by the device serves to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin. This gives the patient a more youthful and refreshed appearance. It is an effective way to treat fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, skin texture, and tone as well as acne scarring. Microneedling is a relatively quick in-office procedure that requires only local numbing medicine and requires minimal downtime. Our office in Omaha offers microneedling, PRP injections, and acne scar treatments to patients looking for facial rejuvenation.

What Are PRP Injections?

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a procedure performed by drawing the patient’s blood, spinning it at high speeds in a centrifuge, and then utilizing the plasma layer for various treatment modalities. The PRP fluid contains platelets and growth factors which can be helpful in treating many conditions including hair loss and skin aging. PRP can be injected separately or performed as part of a session of microneedling at our Omaha office.
