WARTS & MOLLUSCUM - BELLEVUE

What Are Warts?

Warts are hard, skin-colored bumps on the skin that develop due to HPV (human papillomavirus). While typically seen in children, warts can appear in those of any age. If you are experiencing warts, do not scratch them. Warts are contagious and spread through skin-to-skin contact or scratching of the infected area, then touching another part of the body. The most typical types of warts our patients seek treatment plans for are common warts, flat warts, and plantar warts.

What Is Molluscum?

Molluscum contagiosum is a skin infection caused by a poxvirus. It is characterized by small papules on the body, sometimes with a dimple in the middle. It is a contagious condition that is spread through skin-to-skin contact or contact with shared items. To help prevent molluscum, our team recommends washing your hands with soap and water often, as well as trying to avoid using another person's towels and products. We recommend coming in to be evaluated to discuss all treatment options.
